1.  Greetings, Agenda & Calendar Review (20)

  • Coach meeting schedule for 08-09 (Paul) 15-20 minutes

I would like you to review the calendar I will post here against the calendars for your schools so that we can agree on dates for coach meetings next year, and enter into our personal schedules before anything else clogs up the times.  I have scheduled the obvious dates, and highlighted in yellow the ones we have yet to do.   The Meeting schedule for 08-09 is posted on the coach home page.

*June 2nd meeting... time changed to 12:00-2:15

*Joel suggests we put all the "office ours" dates down for next year

  • Building tech support meetings  (Paul) 5-10 mins

Is a coach presence necessary/good at these monthly meetings?

*General agreement to have a coach attend each meeting. Role to listen and be on the same page as techs and Ken and Donna. Rotate the responsibility and allow 10 minutes during the following meeting to recap the minutes.

*Keli is attending this Thursday's meeting.

2.  Carry-Over Item:  A Vision for the Future:  Meetings for next year (30 minutes) Karen and Jane

* At least 2 times a month, 3 Mondays out of 4 a month preferred, if it is a track on day we might be meeting in the afternoon, do not schedule any school meetings on Coach meeting day but absences due to track off/vacation, illness are okay.

*Start time for coach meetings:  8:15 to 11:15

*Start time for workshops 7:45 just like participants.. not 8:00 nor 8:15 if you are not going to be there it is your responsibility to inform both people and coordinators.  Coordinators will be e mailing Agendas prior to workshop and asking for help if it is needed at that workshop.

Process of the meeting... Alex suggests dividing meeting with broader purposes for coaching meetings in general

Categories could include:

Paul: (calendars, events, workshops)  (best practices and learning, leadership) (coaching, collaboration)

Alex: informational, feedback (gather some data).

Jane: Informational, Professional Development, Conversation

Greg: New & Emerging Technical Developments (NET)

Other: others?

Is there a benefit to having a defined range of categories that would allow us to monitor the range of topics in meetings?

* Long range vision appeals to Joel connecting new emerging technologies to a "product"

*Cindy... would like to have time to gather existing examples

*Ann... agree with Cindy that teacher built examples are the most powerful, time to talk and share between coaches and schools

*Alex... lesson sharing, idea sharing an agenda item, should we be talking more about coaching?  Coaching conversations?

*Jane... practice coaching, throw out scenarios,

*Cindy.. coaching scenarios...valuable!

*Alex... informational category because coordinators need that time to communicate with coaches

*Joel...would like to talk about applications and how do you coach someone through?

What does coaching look like for each of you?  (round robin share)

Keep the agenda process building the same, keep the facilitator process the same

If you put something on the Agenda, consider as well how the item will be presented, what kind of interaction will facilitate, and desired outcome:

  • Presentation Ideas: Keynote, Brainstorming, input, others?

  • Interaction Ideas: Fishbowl, discussion, Think, pair, share, others?

  • Outcome Ideas: Decision, discussion, others?

Some time allotted to professional development at each meeting

Right and responsibility to bring ideas to the "table"

4. Break (10) Approximately 10:00

7. Procedures for uploading podcasts reminder (I) (Jane) (10)

Please remember podcasts get sent to coordinators and then are put on the server.  Coordinators try to send you a e mail that they have been put on the server.  Jane wants to clarify that her job is not to put the podcast in a blog, but to put it on the server.  Remind your teacher to not put spaces in the name of your podcasts.  Their teacher name and the school code.   Example SluiterBobSARC.mov

8. Flickr Account (I) (Joel) (20)

9.  Items for Next Meeting & Farewells (5)

3. Collaboration Conversation Culture (the vision that lies beyond...) Greg and Keli (30 minutes)

5. Data Conversation Regarding Workshops (I) (Paul) (15)

 http://www.flickr.com

Not sure about how to "transfer" photo's author with pictures (if taking them from Flickr in the first place)

Great place to put "safe" photos for students to search.

Paul suggests having teachers put their photos into this account.
